It looks like there was a change in model years after 2003 that would make the custom bracket for the Turnover ball system in your 2000 Ram 2500 incompatible with your 2006 Ram 3500. You can reuse the center section by installing the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Custom Installation Kit for Dodge item # BWGNRM1313. This is just the custom fit brackets that are made for the 2006 Ram 3500.
For a entirely new system you'll need to use the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # BWGNRK1313. This is confirmed to fit the 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 with either the 6-1/2' or 8' bed lengths. It will not fit the mega cab models.
I have linked an installation video below.
To make towing with a gooseneck or 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56071. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
