Troubleshooting Issues With A 12v PWM Filter

Question:

I purchased a VGR64VR filter for my furion S back up camera. I have a 2019 Chevrolet 2500Hd truck and I can’t get the camera to power on. Filter is wired with the tag that says camera is wired on the camera end. Truck lights are on and caller clearance lights are operational. I tested power on the bare wires on the camper where the camera mounts, and there is power available. I tried the camera in the truck and it works with no problems. Did I order the wrong filter?

Based on the picture you've provided you have installed the PWM Filter # VGR64VR correctly. When you tested the wires for power did you test the factory wiring or the end of the filter after splicing it into the factory wiring? While I haven't had anyone else with your same issue, I think that you may have just gotten a bad filter and that it just needs to be swapped out with a new one.

I recommend turning on the running lights and pricking into the wiring going out to the camera with a tester # PTW2993 to see if you're actually getting power through the filter. If the tester doesn't light up then we know that the filter is the problem and that it just needs to be replaced.
