Why is Blue Circle of Curt Echo Brake Controller Going Up with Brakes Adjusted Lower
Question:
I have a 2023 Audi Q7 prestige using Curt Echo wireless brake controller. when I set my controls I hit the the Break maximum + the blue ring goes down the reverse happens when I hit the - then the blue ring goes up. Shouldn’t that be opposite? Used on my previous vehicle but I’m pretty sure it was up opposite. Can you confirm I can’t quite remember or doesn’t seem right. + brake max goes up - brake max goes down, right….? Something wrong?

Expert Reply:
The blue "Brakes Being Applied" adjuster for the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 is a combination of both the max output and the sensitivity settings.
It sounds like you have the sensitivity pretty high so when you adjust the max output to a lower strength the brakes will reach that full circle faster. Try adjusting the max output and sensitivity as well as taking your towing setup to an empty parking lot to get the brakes adjusted to what you need.
If you feel like the brakes aren't working properly then feel free to reach back out and we can troubleshoot further.
