Troubleshooting Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness C56331 Voltage Drop When Connected To 4-Way

Question:

My 2013 chrysler town and country had a tekonsha 118534 wiring harness installed. The trailer lights stopped working, so i replaced with curt 56331 custom wiring harness. The converter has 12v DC from battery and each of the 4 way pins has 12vDC according to a multimeter in the appropriate mode. When the trailer is connected, each pin goes to 0.5vDC and wont read 12vDC until the fuse has been removed and then reinstalled with out the trailer connected. The trailer lights work properly when attached to a different vehicle. I have found no shorts and the trailer lights used to work properly with this vehicle. All the bulbs in the trailer have been replaced. What could be my issue?

I think you may have a ground issue with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56331 on your 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. To verify if this is truly the issue you can disconnect the ground wire and run a jumper wire directly to the battery. On these Town and Country minivans they are know to have ground issues for body mounted grounds and that may be what caused your Tekonsha to fail. Please let me know if this resolves your issue.
