What Does Lowering Exhaust For Installing Hitch on Volkswagen Jetta Mean
Question:
May I ask you about installing a hitch for a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta? You say that you have to lower the exhaust for installation - can you tell me what that means? I am just concerned that it will be difficult or require a tool that I may not have on hand. Thanks for your help! Thanks

You may indeed ask about installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11474 on your Volkswagen Jetta, and lowering exhaust means simply loosening some bolts so part of the exhaust hangs down. This will give you the needed space to slide the hitch into position to complete the install of the # C11474.
I have added a link below to a video install which shows how simple it is to lower the exhaust; that portion starts at about the 3:40 mark.
