Will The EcoHitch Interfere With The Liftgate Sensor And Spare Tire On A 2023 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Will this hitch interfere with the hands free liftgate sensor on my highlander? I also have the larger full size spare and was wondering if it would fit?

All trailer hitches, including the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH35VR, will interfere with the hands free liftgate sensor on your 2023 Toyota Highlander. That being said, you should still be able to wave your foot on either side of the receiver tube to activate the sensors. You just wouldn't get a response by waving right in front of the receiver tube.
As for the spare tire, you would need to have one that's 18" or less in order for it to fit along side the trailer hitch. If your tire is a bit larger then you would want to reach out to a local dealership or tire shop to get a smaller spare in case of an emergency.
If you ever plan on towing anything then you'll also want to pick up the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK74FR if your model has the factory tow package wire harness. This harness can be found on the driver's side of the vehicle in between the fascia and spare tire.
If you don't have this harness then you'll need the Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter w Hardwire Kit and Tester # C59496 instead and will need to splice into your Highlander's factory tail light wiring.
