Does Malone Airflow2 Roof Rack Have Weight Capacity for Roof Top Tent
Question:
If I have the factory roof rails in longitudinal position of a 2020 Subaru Outback Limited paired with the Malone Airflow 2 Bars - Is my static weight capacity enough to do a rooftop tent? Ive seen conflicting reports on the static capacity of the 2020 Subaru Outback Limited Factory bars - dont know whether it only applies to cross bar position as opposed to using them as roof rails. In other places it says the static capacity is equal to the dynamic capacity at only 165 lbs. https://www.etrailer.com/p-MPG216.html Looking to pair these with a roofnest condor.

Most roof top tent companies will say that as long as the roof and roof rack has a dynamic weight capacity of at least 165 lbs it would have the static capacity for a roof top tent with occupants. The reason they say this is because it seems to be true and also because not all roof rack companies will list a static capacity.
The Malone part # MPG216 has a dynamic 165 lb capacity so it should be just fine.
