Can You Convert Tie Down Engineering LP8500 from Disc to Drum
Question:
I currently have a boat trailer with a Tie Down lp 8500 actuator with disk brakes. The axle needed replaced and I had one built the new axle came with drum brakes. Can you sell me a pressure check valve to convert my disk brake actuator to drum brakes ? Or do you sell a drum brake master cylinder that I can change out to convert the actuator to run drum brakes

Helpful Expert Reply:
I do have an option for you but in order to switch an actuator from disc to drum brakes you'd need a new master cylinder. Unfortunately, we don't have any replacement parts for the Tie Down Engineering LP8500 as it's discontinued. Therefore, your only option is a full replacement for which I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator part # DM8609101.
