Can Hopkins Smart Hitch Back Up Camera be Installed In Line with In Bed 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
I installed a rear camera, Hopkins Smart Camera, and it uses the factory 7 pin connection. Is there a gooseneck/5th wheel harness that will adapt to this without pulling harnesses every time I switch trailers?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can add a 5th wheel/gooseneck in bed trailer wiring connector and still use the Hopkins Smart Hitch backup camera, # HM50002. Since you already have a 7-Way you can daisy chain the camera connection with the new wiring harness and the camera connectors.
For a new harness you can use # 41157 which is also a Hopkins product. You will just unplug the camera from the factory wiring harness, leave the other end plugged into the back of the 7-Way. Then plug in the new 7-Way in line with the factory connector and camera connector.
