Troubleshooting Intermittent Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Connection to Phone App
Question:
My Echo App was working fine a few weeks ago. Trailer was in storage for 2 months, now I took it out to the track and the app does not work properly. The app finds the controller, adds the device and then loses it again. The turn signal and breaks will not work. Regular running lights are working. What can be the problem? I don’t feel safe for others around me when the break lights and turn signals don’t work. iPhone 14, latest OS. Thanks for your help in advance

Sounds like the Curt Echo Mobile controller # C51180 is only making an intermittent connection to your 7-way. This is a pretty common problem associated with dirty trailer connector pins which happens a lot over the course of a winter so that adds up as well. So what I would recommend is take some sandpaper to all of the pins on all of your trailer wiring connectors as well as the Echo and you should see the problem go away.
