How to Verify If The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller Is Damaged On a 2022 Ram 1500
Question:
I have a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500. I had a company install a RedArc Tow Pro. They used a plug and play harness that plugged into my truck plug. Everything was working great. However, on a recent tow my trailer brakes stopped working suddenly and the light indicator on the trailer brake control went off. I have checked all fuses and found they are good. I replaced the trailer 7 point plug and confirmed all wiring / ground connections are good on trailer. When I plug trailer to truck RedArc is not picking up the trailer is connected. I have cleaned all connections, applied dialec grease and determined there are no broken wires. When I plug trailer to truck all lights work as should. The only thing that no longer works is electric brakes. Not sure what else could be issue other than bad control model. Any help is appreciated.

To determine if the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller # RED44FR is faulty you can connect its power(black) wire to a good 12 volt source and run a jumper to a ground. If the controller lights up then you know the issues is with the wiring and not the controller. If you still do not have power on the controller connecting it directly to a good power and ground the control module is damaged.
