Can Longer Thule Roof Rack Crossbars Be Used on a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300
Question:
I need cross bars for a 2022 Mercedes GLC 300. I see on your website that the Thule Wingbar eco package you provide comes with 47 bars. is there any reason I could not use something longer like a 53 bar?

While there are some reasons why you would not want to go with longer crossbars, in your case you can safely upgrade from the 47" to the 53" without issue.
A couple of the reasons why you wouldn't want to go to longer bars would be that the mounting channel on the bottom of the crossbar would be too wide to use the feet and you do not want your crossbars to be wider than your side mirrors. I looked up your 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 and it is 82.5" wide with the side mirrors. So these issues will not be a problem for you.
You would just want to use the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC Roof Rack by Thule but use the 53" bars instead. I have listed out the parts you would need to use the 53" bars below.
- Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420
- Evo Flush Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710601
- Fit Kit for Thule # TH186020
You can also add the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450400 to secure the roof rack to the roof.
