Will Thule OutWay 2 Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier Fit a 2006 Infiniti FX35?

Will Thule’s Outway 2 fit my 2006 Infiniti FX35? Their 2013 Fit Guide only lists 2007-2013 models. However, 2006 is listed as good in Thule’s 2010 Fit Guide.

The Thule OutWay 2 Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier # TH45JV is not recommended for your 2006 Infiniti FX35 because the spoiler is at the top of the hatch near the roof line, rather than at trunk level. Although the rack would mount to the vehicle, the mounting cables would put pressure on the spoiler and eventually cause wear or damage to it. You are correct that Thule previously indicated this rack as a fit for the 2006 FX35 and they now do so only for the 2007 and later model years.

A better choice for your FX35 is the Hollywood Racks # HRF2. This unique carrier has upper arms that extend above and over the roof line spoiler so that no part of the carrier contacts it. Please refer to the linked photo. The upper mounting straps can be secured either to the roof side rails or to the top edge of the rear hatch, so you can use this carrier regardless of your FX35 roof configuration. I have linked you to an installation video showing use on a comparable vehicle.
