Recommended Hitch and Adapter for a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Using a Bike Rack

Will the Yakima 4 bike rack that tilts away from the car fit on this hitch without an extension ? This is for a 2022 wrangler rubicon 4xe?

The Draw-Tite item # DT78MR has 7" from the pin hole to the edge of the factory spare tire on your 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. There are seven different Yakima 4 bike racks that tilt away and most of them will need more clearance than 7" inches. You can verify if your specific bike rack fits by measuring from the pin hole to the closest portion of the rack.

If you find you need an adapter you will want the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks item # Y02483. The BackSwing extends 8-1/2" from the pin hole so you will have plenty of clearance. This adapter does reduce the hitch's capacity by 50% so the maximum tongue weight you can have would be reduced from 675 lbs to 337 lbs.
