Can Thule Elite Van XT Bike Rack Be Installed on Either Door of Ram ProMaster Van

Question - is there any problem with mounting the carrier on the left door instead of the right?

You can install the Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack # TH302013 on either door, but Thule recommends installing it on the right door for 2 reasons:

1 - The right door is typically the first door to open so if the rack is installed on the left door and the trays are shifted to the right it will be difficult to open that door first.
2 - If you shift the trays to the left (so you can easily open up that right door first) the bikes and rack will be sticking out into traffic.

So while you can install this on either door, you're really limited to the right side just because of how the Ram ProMaster is designed.
