Is There Downside to Going with Higher Rated Trailer Tire than Needed
Question:
Are there any downsides from going to a higher range tire? My 5th wheel came with LR F tires and there is not a big selection in that range. If I move up to a G range will there be any drawbacks other then changing the valve stem? The G range will be way overkill for the 14K camper with 6K axles is why I ask. Thank You

The only downsides to going with a higher rated trailer tire than needed is that you most likely will pay more for it and you'll have to inflate them to a higher psi which is slightly more effort but not a huge deal.
I do not know what tire size you have but in the Load Range of G we have two sizes with the ST235/85R16 like part # TTWPRG235R16 and the 235/80R16 like part # PRG80235.
