How to Loosen Puck System Handles for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I have a 2022 BandW Slider Companion hitch installed on my Superduty. My old BandW hitch had a release handle in the fenderwell that was round and easy to grip and pull. Never had a problem. The new handle is a flat iron bent into a handle and it is stuck. I cant pull it to release the lock pin. It has sharp corners and hurts my tender little hands. Ive tried a rope and a strap but the problem seems to be it wont budge. Can you suggest a solution?

Thanks for reaching out!
It sounds like you have the B&W Companion # BWRVK3370 for the puck system on your 2022 Ford Super Duty short bed. This means the handles you're talking about are used to secure the latches to the pucks and I definitely understand where you're coming from when you say they hurt your hands to use.
With that being said, there is a way that you can loosen up the handles so they are easier to operate. If you remove the cotter pins and loosen up the castle nuts you will then be able to open and closer the handles easier.
Attached is a photo of how B&W explains this for you to check out!
