Will The B&W Companion Hitch Fir My Stock Gooseneck Hitch On My 2018 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Will the B and W Companion hitch work with the stock gooseneck hitch in the 6.5foot bed on my 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 Heavy Duty?

Helpful Expert Reply:
No, the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 will not fit your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 unless you have the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1016-5W. Most gooseneck hitches have the round opening and the B&W Companion needs a square opening. So if you have the round opening it will not work for you. You would have to install the # BWGNRK1016-5W. To be able to use your stock gooseneck hitch, you could look into using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter part # CAB-C5G or the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter part # AM3100.
The Convert-A-Ball will require an opening on the truck bed where the hitch ball is located of around 7 inches long by 7-1/2 inches wide. The Ranch Adapter will required around 5-1/2 inches long by 5-1/2 inches wide. A lot of states will require safety chains when using gooseneck to 5th wheel adapters. You can add them to the Ranch Adapter using the # AM3109. They're already included with the Convert-A-Ball.
