Installing 4-Way to 5-Way on 2015 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Kit for 2015 toyota rav 4 trailer lights went in great, but I need to connect wire for surge brake lockout . Reverse lights are on liftgate, and wire disappears. Anybody have a suggestion on where to hook up?

It looks like you already have the Tekonsha # 118578 on your 2015 RAV4. I'm assuming you're trying to add something like the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57187. We don't have a specific diagram for the vehicle showing where access to the wire would be located. Looking at pictures of your vehicle, it appears as though the liftgate wires run out from two locations in the top middle.

Removing the grommets should give you access to these wires. You may also need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to identify the reverse light wire. Once you identify the reverse light circuit, splice into it and route your wire down to the trailer connector.
