Trouble Seeing Out of VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera at Night
Question:
My vueSmart camera works great in the day time but after dark it doesnt light up the back to see anything. The LED lights are on and there are 2 brightness settings but looking thru the I pad or my phone you cant see anything behind you. Is this a problem with the camera or am I missing something?

The LED lights on the VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera # HM34FR are a common complaint among users. This is due to the very limited amount of light the LED's give off. If the lights were brighter it would cause the image to be difficult to see that close to the camera. Do be sure to check the brightness on your phone or tablet as they will often go dark at night making it even more difficult to see anything in the camera. You should consider adding some additional Reverse Lights # BUL111CB to increase your rear lighting and make things more visible at night.
On higher end cameras like the Furrion Vision S # FOS05TASF they use IR lights with a better camera to create an easier to see image at night.
