What Circuit to Use for Running Light Activation of Observation System Camera
Question:
Not sure if you can help as i asking about a horse float,, im using a 7 pin flat plug for wiring from my vehicle to the horse float..The wiring set up is as follows. 1 yeallow turn signal 6, red brakes, 5 blue electric brakes, 3 white ground, 2 black not used auxillary 7, brown tail lights, 4 green right turn signal. i want to connect the following things but im not 100 percent sure in which direction i should take 1. I want to install a wifi camera but only work when im travelling and have my lights on my vehicle, Im thinking the brown tail lights, but im only getting 6V on the multi meter, turn signals, brake lights get 12V+ 2. I want to connect running lights can i use the same wire 7. brown? 3. I know not required but i would like to set up reverse lights not sure where to connect to as its only a 7 pin plug or is the best option to install a battery box to run the camera, and can i use the aux 2. black wire to connect to the battery in the battery to help keep it chartged Thanks in advanced

The running lights circuit would be the correct circuit to use for the camera setup you mentioned. I am not sure why it's only showing 6 volts but it should be a 12 volt circuit. This can also still be used for the running lights of your trailer as well.
Normally the center pin of the 7-way is the aux/backup light circuit but this circuit isn't always active so you may have to verify that with your tow vehicle. This would be the number one pin of your picture.
