Can Dual Hitch Adapter Be Used with 10,000 Lb Trailer

Question:

I have a 10,000 tow behind trailer. I purchased a Hitow extension with the 71/2 riser for a bike rack. It is the dual welded support for the top half. I need to know if it will be safe to tow my camper. The bottom half says is rated for 5,000 lb tongue weight and I do have a weight distribution hitch for my camper.

I do have an option for you but it sounds like you wanting to use a dual hitch adapter with a bike rack while towing a trailer and if that's the case then this is not a good idea, especially with a trailer this size. These typically max our at around 5,000 lbs. It also won't work if you have a weight distribution system. Instead, I recommend placing the bike rack on the trailer either on the rear with a hitch or on the front with a rack. I have attached some options below for this.

Rear:

Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E-100 (Required 4" x 4" Steel Square Bumper)
Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703

Front:

Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier part # CC-275
Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers part # LC429756
