The Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX you were looking at has the same 8-3/4" measurement from the bottom of the footplate to the end of the tube when fully retracted as your current jack. The 9" retracted height we list for this jack is including the 1/4" thickness of the footplate.
If you're looking for an electric jack then the # EJ-3520-BBX is a great option as it has a capacity well above what's really needed for your trailer and a drop down leg to make lifting your trailer fast and easy. Trailer jacks take a bunch of abuse and tend to wear down fairly quickly when exposed to the elements so with this one being our branded jack you won't have to worry about buying a whole new jack since we carry a variety of replacement parts. Most other manufacturers just force you to replace the entire jack even when one small components gives out.
This jack also comes in white # EJ-3520-WBX or with a 7-way cable # EJ-3527-BBX for a stronger power source to raise and lower the jack quicker. I also recommend picking up a cover # UF38-944020 to help protect the jack from the elements and prevent you from having to get those replacement parts.
