Can Loctite Threadlocker be Used when Installing Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2008 Ford F-250
Question:
Im going to order this hitch. I looked at installation installations for my 08 Ford F250 Super Duty, and noticed the mounting hardware does not incluced lock washers. Rather, it has flange nuts. The instructions do not call for use of a thread locker like loctite. Would it be advisable to use loctite? Also, the chain safety tabs on this hitch are very large. A standard 1/4inch chain hook with safety latch wont fit over them. Can you recommend a solution for when towing smaller trailers with 1/4inch chain hooks? Thank-you

To answer the last question first you could attach some quick links to the safety chain loops on Curt trailer hitch # C15410 so that they are compatible with smaller hooks. We have different size quick links and S-hooks depending on your needs and I have provided a link to them for you.
For the trailer hitch installation hardware you can use Loctite such as # LT1330799 for a stronger bond or # LT37643 for a connection that can still be removed with hand tools. It is not required and the hitch would be perfectly secure without it if torqued properly according to the installation instructions.
