Does 14,000 lb A-Frame Couple Have Enough Capacity For 9,000 lb Camper Trailer
Question:
I have a camper that weighs around 8-9k pounds, truck and trailer weigh 17-18k all together. Will this replacement work for my application? Want to make sure that I get one that’ll work for the weight.

Expert Reply:
Yes, the A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Thumb Latch - Black - 2-5/16" Ball - Weld On - 14,000 lbs # CA-5400-B does have enough capacity for a 9,000 lb camper trailer. The 14k capacity is only referring to its towing capacity so the truck weight won't come into play.
