Is There An Adapter Plate Available To Allow Smaller Door Locks To Fit Larger Cutout Holes

Question:

I have a BA64FTat the present time. I like the way the inside part of the European lock you use the same handle to open and close the door . It really helps on windy days. The problem is that my cutout is too big for the European lock. Is there any type of a trim panel that can allow the European style to adapt it to the size of the cutout for the ba64FR?

We don't currently carry any adapter plates to cover your cutout hole and fit the Bauer Products European Style RV Entry Door Lock # BA38AR, but you could still make this work.

First I would fill in the excess space where the door lock wouldn't sit and so that you can properly install the lock in the door without it having room to wiggle around.

Next you can get some door handle backplates from your local hardware store and cut out holes for the internal components and mounting screws to slip through and then assemble the door lock/backplate on the RV door. I would just use some glue to secure the backplates to the door instead of shooting screws through since the door lock would prevent it from being able to remove, but would most likely still allow a bit of movement.
