Troubleshooting An RV Toilet That Allows Black Tank Odor Into The RV

We put a new toilet in and when we put the new one on it still smells also when we took the old toilet off after draining it its still Spilled Out and it still smells with a new toilet on what can we do

If you're smelling your black water tank from the new toilet then you most likely don't have the seal fully compressed to the flange. On the bottom of the your Dometic 320 Full-Timer RV Toilet # DOM87FR there's a black seal that presses against the flange on the floor and makes it so that the smell can only travel up through the trap, which will have water as a barrier to prevent the smell from coming through.

To fully compress the seal you'll need to tighten your flange bolts, but you'll want to be careful that you don't overtighten the bolts and damage the flange or the toilet. I've attached a video below of a similar toilet that I installed that will help give you some tips on fully tightening down toilet and preventing the smell.
