Can 2018 Nissan Sentra Transport 250 lb Scooter/Chair
Question:
I have a 2018 Nissan sentra and I want to put a receiver hitch on this car cause I have a mobility chair carrier that will plug into the receiver hitch and allow me to put me chair on the carrier and strap it down and it has a mesh metal ramp that flips up and locks in with pull pin locks the chair weighs 250 lbs by itself this hitch should more than hold the weight I dont want it to drag I dont think it will

The problem with the hitches that fit the 2018 Nissan Sentra is that they are lower in capacity than what you'd need so you would have to tow a small trailer for your chair that weighs 250 lbs. Since the vehicle is lighter duty the hitches made for it like the Curt # C11349 only have a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs.
So to tow a trailer you'd need wiring to for the lighting which for that we have the # 118582 which is custom fit and very reliable.
To use a carrier you'd have to go with a higher rated tow vehicle like a SUV or even a truck.
