5th Wheel Hitch For 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 w/ B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck
Question:
I have a 2016 Chevy 3500HD with the B and W gooseneck hitch, is it possible to add rails in the box for a fifth wheel hitch as well, while keeping the gooseneck?

While you can use a 5th wheel hitch in your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 that has the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck # BWGNRK1016-5W, you can't add separate rails, with the reason being the gooseneck takes up the spot on the frame where the rails install. What you can do though is add the B&W Companion 5th wheel, which mounts directly in the Turnoverball, and you can use either the fixed hitch (if you have a long bed) or sliding hitch (for a standard/short bed):
- B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W
- B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W
This will give you not just the 5th wheel hitch you are wanting, but the highest-quality 5th wheel hitch in the industry. The reason why is the Companion's jaw system, which measures a full 1 inch thick, and their tolerance - the space between where the jaws meet - is +/- .002 inch. This allows the jaws to have a constant vice-like grip around the king pin, which ensures the smoothest, quietest ride you can get when towing a 5th wheel trailer.
