Compatibility of Curt Class III Hitch # 13230 with 2010 Dodge Dakota with Full Sized Spare Tire
Question:
I have a 2010 Dodge Dakota BigHorn SXT Crew Cab. I was wondering if this product will work if the vehicle is equipped with a full size spare?

I spoke with my contact at Curt about the compatibility of that hitch with a Dodge Dakota full-sized spare tire. It turns out he has a 2011 Dakota. They used his truck to do some of the test fits and found that the Curt # 13230 fit just fine with the full-sized spare. He said that when raising or lowering the spare, you might need to push the tire toward the front of the vehicle just a little bit so it clears the hitch, but other than that, you will have no worries.
