To uninstall the original fabric on your Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4700, and replace it with the new fabric # RM-4700-10, you're going to start by:

-Depressing the push button lock that connects the two car side support bars, and pull the two pieces apart.

-Next, on the other side, slide the end of the straight edge screwdriver under the metal bands at both ends of the shock absorbers. Pry each band up slightly and pull the end of the shock absorber away.

-Continue by sliding the collar assembly and support struts out of the sleeves.

-Next, on a flat level surface, unfold the new replacement fabric and position it so that both the Tow Defender logos are facing down and fold the fabric in half.

-Fold the support struts together and insert the ends of the struts through the larger of the two rounded openings at the center then slide the struts through the sleeves, until the collar assembly is positioned at the opening at the center.

-Continue on by swinging the top support strut up and over, so that again the Tow Defender is completely unfolded.

-Connect one of the shock absorbers to the collar and position the cap closest to the black tube over the ball joint and press down until the cap snaps into place. Repeat these steps on the other side for the other shock absorber.

-Continuing on, you'll need to connect one of the shock absorbers to the support strut. If necessary, move the end of the support strut forward or backward to position the cap over the ball joint. As mentioned in the previous step, you'll need to press down until the cap snaps in place and repeat for the other support strut.

-Finally, with both support struts in place, move to the other side and install the car side support bars. One of the support bars has a pre-drilled hole near one end, and the other has a push button lock. Slide both support bars through the center cut-out and into the sleeve at the edge of the screen so that the hole and the push button lock are at the center. Then, depress the push-button lock and slide the bars together until the pieces snap together.

I have attached the instructions I used for you to check out as well.
