Question:
I HAVE A 2018 HONDA CRV AND I AM MOVING FROM TEXAS TO CHICAGO, I AM PLANNING ON RENTING A TRAILER FROM UHAUL TO PULL WITH MY CRV. WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT I CAN SAFELY PULL. I WILL ALSO NEED TO HAVE A HITCH PUT ON MY VEHICLE.

According to the owners manual for your 2018 Honda CR-V the maximum allowable weight of any trailer you haul including everything in it is 1,500lbs. Do note that if you are planning on also filling your CR-V with items you will want to be aware of the GVWR on your vehicle. Your trailer tongue weight should be approximately 10% of your trailer weight so at the 1,500lb weight you will have 150lbs of tongue weight which needs to be added to your curb weight. You can find your GVWR on your drivers door jamb and it will also list the maximum allowable weight of your cargo, passengers and tongue weight allowed on your CR-V.
I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12169 on your CR-V. This receiver uses the smaller 1-1/4" receiver giving you the best ground clearance to reduce the chances of your receiver dragging on steep driveways. Curt recommends using the 2" Euro Drawbar # C45572 and the Hitch Pin & Clip # F-4. This 2" ball will work with the multi-fit coupler used by U-Haul trailers.
You will also need a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118741 to operate the lights on the U-Haul trailer.
