No Stop/Turn Signals with Curt T-Connector Harness On 2021 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I just installed the curt trailer wiring kit on my 2021 rav 4. I hooked up the trailer last night and the only lights that I’m getting to work is when I turn on the headlights. The rear lights come on but the break or the blinkers do not work. Everything was hooked up according to the instructions and is hard to mess up in my opinion. The only thing that crossed my mind is that I didn’t grind the paint away to bare metal on the supplied ringer terminal with self tapping screw. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to go buy a trailer light tester tomorrow as well. Thanks!

The correct Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 2021 Toyota RAV4 is part # C56434. If you're having issues with lighting signals, make sure you're testing at the vehicle side with a circuit tester to rule out any issues on the trailer. If there are still no signals probe the wires entering and leaving the converter box. If you have power going in but not leaving you know this is bad and the entire harness would need replaced. If there is power entering and leaving I recommend checking the ground. It does indeed need to be attached to bare metal so that's the next thing I'd do is re-secure this. If this does not fix the issue then check the fuse on the power wire run between the battery and converter box. Finally, be sure to check you have the t-connectors on the correct sides.
