Will the Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist Fit a 2006 Dodge Dakota

this is from you site: Unfortunately none of the DeeZee tailgate assist products are designed to fit your 2006 Dodge Dakota. I reached out to my DeeZee contact to confirm. However, I do have a solution for you. I checked with my contact at Hopkins, maker of the Tailgate EasyLift # 74211 and he confirmed this lift assist will work on Dakotas up through the 2007 model year. Does this really fit the Dakota 2006?

Yes, the Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist part # 74211 is a confirmed fit for a 2006 Dodge Dakota per EasyLift. We have also confirmed this with customers as well as you can see from the review attached below. Please note, the truck's tailgate is lighter than most full-sized which the product is designed for and that is what causes the issue they mentioned.

The DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks is indeed not a fit.
