Parts Needed To Flat Tow a 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Behind a 2022 Jayco Greyhawk 30Z RV Motorhome
Question:
Hi there, I have a 2022 Jayco Greyhawk 30Z and a 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 4x4. I’m looking for a tow bar setup so I can tow the Colorado behind my RV. My Greyhawk is already equipped with a tow hitch rated for 7500lbs and also a trailer brake. Thank you

First you will need the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM78VR for your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. This kit is specific to your ZR2 and will give you a mount height of 16" with the factory tire size of 265/65R17. You will need to measure the height of the receiver on your 2022 Jayco Greyhawk 30Z to determine if you will need an adapter like the Roadmaster High-Low 4" Adapter # RM-048-4 to keep the bars within 3 inches of level. If you are unsure of what or if you need an adapter please let me know the height to the center of your 2" receiver.
The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 is Roadmaster's best selling tow bar. It is rated for up to 8,000lbs of towing capacity and includes the wiring and safety cables installed in the channel guides. The RoadMaster Nighthawk All Terrain and Sterling All Terrain Towing Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 will provide you with the diodes, wiring, locks, lube and storage bags for the tow bars and accessories. You will also need a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766 and Charge Line # RM-156-25 to finish off the electrical needs for your Colorado.
Finally the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR is needed to activate the brakes on your Colorado. With flat towed vehicles you will not be able to use a traditional brake controller like are commonly used on trailers. The Demco will mount on our Colorado so when you are ready to flat tow you will only need to flip a switch. This system also includes the wireless coach link which will allow you to see when the brakes on your Colorado are being applied.
