Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2021 Ford F-53 with Brake Controller Harness

Question:

Im trying to find the OEM wiring harness for the vehicle end of the brake controller for a 2021 Ford f-53 chassis. Its a Bounder 35K class A motorhome. The one you guys list appears to be the wrong one. They made a change between 2020 and 2021 so its a new style connector. Can you look into this and provide me with the correct part number? Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out and for the photos!

We try to carry over the wiring brackets and for a long time they didn't change which is why we carried it over. With this new information we will definitely be updating our website.

For your application I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR which you will install by cutting off your current connector and splicing this to the wiring function for function with butt connectors # DW05744-5. I like this controller because it's hidden aside from the knob so you won't be using up any more room in your cab.

Unfortunately there aren't any custom plug and play adapters as of right now (November 2022) so cutting off your connector and splicing in a controller is the only option.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.

It’s been 2 years since you replied to this thread about the new F53 brake controller. Is this adapter available now?

@2024A Thanks for reaching out! I took a look at the information our manufacturers have on this fitment and unfortunately it looks like cutting and splicing the wiring is what will still need to be done for your application.
