Recommended Electric Trailer Tongue Jack For a Keystone Hideout 174RK

Question:

I’d like to swap out the manual crank on my 174RK Hideout. Spec says 4060lbs. I’m assuming a 4000 lb rated unit would work since we’re not talking about lifting the entire trailer. Am I wrong? Fully loaded it specs to about 5020 lbs. Then, the other consideration is when I need to lift my truck a little to get the hitch weight distribution bars installed or removed. Help understanding what capacity electric unit to get, would be most appreciated. Thanks

First the weights you are using are the dry weight and GVWR for your Keystone Hideout 174RK. The tongue jack only needs to lift the tongue weight of the trailer and a portion of your truck. I recommend using the Lippert Smart Jack Electric Trailer Jack # LC643589 on your Hideout. This jack has an auto retract feature and will also allow you to set your hitch height making it easier to operate than other electric jacks. It is rated for up to 3,500lbs which is more than enough for your 600-800lbs of tongue weight depending on how much your particular trailer weighs with enough in reserve for your truck when connecting your weight distribution hitch.
