Amperage Capacity for Power Wire on a Factory 7 Way on a 2009 Chevy Suburban
Question:
Hi, Trying to figure out how many amps/watts I can draw from my 09 chevy suburban through the 12 volt hot lead in the factory 7 blade trailer socket - do you know - or can you tell me where I can find out? Thanks

Typically, the power wire on a factory 7 way is on a 40amp circuit with a fuse or breaker somewhere near the fuse block. Sometimes it can be a 30amp circuit. If you are going to be running more than 30amps, I would call the service department at the dealer you got it from and find out for sure. You could also give the fuse block a quick check to see if it is clearly identified.
