Determining If Higher Load Range Tires 185/80-13 Are Better For Hauling a Polaris Ranger On Trailer
Question:
I haul a polaris rzr on my trailer with 175/80 13 tires.I want the best load rated tire for this? Would a 180 tire be a better choice with higher load rating? What would that rating be? thanks.

With trailer tires you really want to be careful with finding the right size tire for your trailer and load. You mention having a 175/80-13 tire for which we do have a load range B # AM1ST74 (1,100lbs), C # AM10199 (1,360lbs) and D # AM10210 (1,650lbs). By moving to the higher capacity tires you do get a stiffer tire which will create a stiffer ride for your trailer giving you more bouncing as most trailer tires also act as shock absorbers. It is generally best to stay with the same tire and load capacity given by the manufacturer.
Going to a Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10208 you will gain a slight load capacity (1,710lbs) but the tire will also be slightly larger so you will need to determine if you do have the clearance. The 185/80-13 is 7.2" wide and 24.7" tall while your current 175/80-13 is 7" wide and 24.1". You want to have 1" of sidewall clearance and 3" of vertical clearance for your suspension to flex.
