Does 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Without Brake Controller Plug Need to Hardwire Brake Controller
Question:
My 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo did not come with the factory tow package. I had a factory tow package installed at the dealer. However the factory tow package did not include the plug to plug in a brake controller. Will I still have to hardwire the brake controller?

I am going to assume your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a working 7-way, and without a plug-in port for the brake controller you will have to hardwire the controller - with one exception. There is a brake controller that you just plug into your 7-way and don't have to do any added wiring:
- Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180
To use the Echo # C51180 all you do is plug it into your Jeep's 7-way and set it up with an app on your smartphone, which makes it the easiest brake controller on the market to install and use. That's all there is to it - plug it in, set it up, and you're ready to tow.
Otherwise, for a standard brake controller you would indeed have to hardwire it in.
