Are Safety Cables Lighter Weight Than Safety Chains
Question:
can you tell the weight of this cable set? How does it compare to the weight of comparable chains? We are a tiny travel trailer OEM and every pound counts for us. Thank you!

The Dutton-Lainson 40" Vinyl Coated Safety Cables with Clevis Hook # DL20119 have a shipping weight of 3lbs whereas the closest comparable chain option # 337B03835SC is going to weigh approximately 5lbs per chain.
If you're looking to cut weight then I recommend the coiled safety cables. They'll honestly be much easy to store and use than the chains and have a protective coating to help prevent any rust or corrosion .
That being said these only have a combined capacity of 6,500lbs so you'll want to double check your trailer's GVWR to ensure you're purchasing the correct capacity cables. There should be a sticker on the outside of your trailer saying the GVWR so you can check. If you find it's higher then let me know and I can find the correct capacity cables for you.
