Recommended Hitch for a 2022 GMC Terrain that Will Allow the Lift Gate Feature to Work
Question:
Will the class III hitch for Denali 2022 GMC Terrain make the hands free tailgate inoperative ?

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e59ZR is the only hitch available for the 2022 GMC Terrain Denali that will allow you to use the hands free liftgate feature. However, it will be slightly harder to use than before. You will need to place your foot on either side of the 2" receiver and it can sometimes take a bit longer for the sensor to pickup the motion.
The etrailer hitch item # e59ZR is custom fit and bolts to your Terrain with included hardware. I like this hitch because of the superior rust protection that the matte black powder coat finish provides. An added benefit is that the hitch blends in better beneath your vehicle than other hitches like the item # 76419 that has a glossy finish.
I have linked an installation video below.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # 118285 (which fits as long as you have the factory tow package) and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
