Weight Capacity and 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2018 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a 2018 F150 V6 3.5 eco boost super crew 4x4 with max tow pkg, 7000 lb GVWR, 145” WB, 2030 lb payload, and 3.55 axle ratio. It has 20” wheels and short bed. What is the heaviest 5th wheel I could pull and pls recommend hitch and other accessories

According to the 2018 Ford Towing Guide the specs of your 2018 Ford F-150 can tow a 5th wheel trailer weighing up to 6,700 lbs which is pretty small when it comes to 5th wheel trailers. From what I'm seeing you have a 6-1/2' bed without a factory puck system as the max tow package looks to be for bumper pull applications.

With that in mind I recommend picking up the Custom Bed Rail Kit # C93WR which installs without drilling into your truck frame and then using the Curt A16 # C16521 hitch because it has a fully articulating torsion head and interlocking jaws for a safe, smooth, and secure towing experience.

I also recommend installing the Pollak # PK11893-11932-010 so you have a 7-Way socket in your truck bed so it's easier to connect/disconnect your trailer wiring.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
