Can The Curt Rota-Flex Pin Box Be Used With The Curt E-Series Hitches?

Why isnt the Rotoflex pinbox compatible with the E-series hitches?

I spoke with Curt, and they actually say that you CAN use the Curt E-Series hitches, like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Roller - Slide Bar Jaw # 16516 with the Curt Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC176440.
They expressed that the only hitches they do not recommend to be used with the Rota-Flex are the Q-Series hitches, like the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider # C16566.
