Does the A-Frame Coupler Hole Need to Be Enlarged for the Electric Jack with Footplate to Fit

Question:

I was Reading reviews and some say the shaft size only fit the top opening holes of the trailer frame/tongue and not the bottom hole because the bottom hole on the tongue is smaller. I have 2016 Jayco X17Z that is and storage so I can’t measure mine . Can you confirm that I’d be able to install on my Jayco without having to modify grind the hole bigger?

In regards to the Electric Jack with Footplate part # EJ-3520-BBX, the outer tube is 2-1/4" diameter which is a standard size. There are some instances where the hole through the a-frame coupler is slightly undersized and you must enlarge this for the jack to fit. That said, this is usually just a small amount of material so like a file or sand paper would take care of this. You'd run into this issue with many electric jacks as the problem is the coupler hole not the jack diameter.

Please note, the exact trailer you're installing this on is not really relevant as trailer parts aren't made to super precise dimensions. In other words, there could be two 2016 Jayco Jay Feather X17Z's and the jack could fit perfect on one and require filing/sanding on the other. It just kind of is what it is and you need to be aware small minor modifications are always a possibility with trailers.
