Recommended Tonneau Cover For A 2022 Toyota Tundra Traveling Through Heavily Wooded Areas

Question:

I’m undecided about a roll up cover for my 2022 Toyota Tundra with a 6.7ft bed.I’m looking at the Bak RevolverX4s and the Truxedo Sentry CT.I’ve seen the X4 at my neighbors and he like it but I haven’t seen the Truxedo . It would be nice if someone at your installation dept. could let me know which unit he thinks is made better and would last longer.I will be using cover in a very wooded area and am worried about branch damage with the woven fabric of the Truxedo cover.Any help would be great.

The TruXedo Sentry CT # TX74NV (with deck rail system) or # TX44NV (without deck rail system) and BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK27AV have a very similar vinyl top, which would both hold up the same against abrasions. These vinyl tops aren't your typical soft roll-up vinyl's though so both would hold up very well.

If I personally had to choose between the two I would go with the BAKFlip just because I personally like the brand and because it sit just a bit more flush with the bedrails versus the TruXedo. I've also had much better luck with replacement parts or just general questions when reaching out to BAK then TruXedo.

I noticed that you were also looking at the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK79AV. This would also be a great option to completely take away any risk or worry of the cover being damaged in the woods.

My dad has a BAKFlip F1 on his Silverado and it is HEAVY DUTY. You wouldn't need to worry about any branches falling on it or scratching it as you drive through the woods. There are some trade offs between a roll-up and folding cover though. I have a roll-up and like being able to roll it fully up without it blocking the rear window, whereas a folding cover would sit up blocking the rear window if fully open. The F1 does have adjustable gas struts to hold it up and away from the window so you wouldn't have to worry about it hitting the glass as well.

All of these covers are for a 6-1/2' bed so let me know if you have a different size so I can find the correct fit for your Tundra.
