Recommended Extended 2-1/2 Ball Mount for 3- 4 Hitch Extension
Question:
I have a Ford F-350 that we use to pull a large pop-out trailer that weighs 11,000 lbs gross weight. Presently, the power jack that we have prevents us from opening the bed of the truck when it is attached to the trailer. We really only need 2-3 more inches, but I dont want to compromise our tow weight since the trailer is so heavy. I would love suggestions on the best way to approach this safely, and which products to consider.

The best option to keep your 2-1/2" receiver and its capacity will be to use the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-624. This adjustable ball mount has a total length from center of the pin hole with included ball mount installed of 13-1/4". This is a good 3" - 4" longer than standard ball mounts and should easily gain you the 2" - 3" you need to clear your tailgate.
The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount has a massive 21,000 lbs towing capacity with the 2-5/16" ball and 16,000 lbs with the 2". It has a maximum drop and rise of 9".
I have linked a review video below.
To secure this ball mount from theft you will want the InfiniteRule Lock Set for Gen-Y 21K Adjustable Ball Mounts for 2-1/2" Hitches item # 34061651-D.
