There are a few options for a braking system that will work with your 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ. This includes two different styles, 1 being a portable system (can be removed and has to be set up each time) and the other is a fixed system (stays in place, not easily transferable). I have included an option for each below that fits your TJ. Personally, I prefer the fixed system because it does not require you to set it up each time you flat tow and take it out each time you want to use your TJ after flat towing.
Fixed:
- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251
Portable:
- Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524
Either choice will require the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 for use.
I have also included some additional parts needed to flat tow your TJ below.
Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5 (fits Standard factory bumper or Double tube bumper)
Tow Bar and Safety Cables: Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676
Tow Bar Wiring: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
