There is an option for an adapter that will allow you to tow your 5th wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch, and installs right on the king pin. There are actually two options - one for a standard long bed and the other with offset if you have a short bed truck:
- Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G
- Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset # CAB-C5GX1216
Both of these adapters have a 20,000 lb capacity and bolt onto your king pin. The only thing you need to ensure is that the height is correct; both adapters require the distance from the top of the gooseneck ball to the base of the king pin box to be between 12 inches and 16 inches.
As for the correct option, if you have an 8 foot bed go with the # CAB-C5G, but for beds under 8 feet, the # CAB-C5GX1216 gives you 7-1/2 inches of offset to help with turning clearance.
