Easy to Install Brake Controller Recommendation for 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 where I recently installed the 7 way trailer harness, Mopar part number 82207253ab There is a leftover light blue wire with no connector on the end coming off that harness. Where should the light blue wire off the harness I left under my dash connect to? The Drawing that came with it shows it just being rollled up under the dash, yet shows it being pulled in under the dash by itself. Second part to this question is now do I need a brake box? If I do, I want it to all be plug and play no wire splicing. Whats the recommendation?

That wire is most likely an illumination circuit for a brake controller to light up a backlit display. This isn't used on modern brake controllers so you can go ahead and disregard it. Then for an easy to install brake controller solution you'd want the part # 3020-P which plugs in under the dash of the truck and would allow you to use a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 which is one of our best selling controllers due to how well it works and how easy to use it is.
